Notes and inspirations for Duck Walk's beautiful 2010 Wines ...
2010 Rosé
We have released Duck Walk’s 2010 Dry Rosé and it has had time to relax after bottling. My inspiration for this Rosé was a trip to Montauk for an afternoon of raw shellfish. I had tried a lot of Rosés from all over the world and wanted to create a Rosé that was reminiscent of those from France (Provence). I would invite you to try our 2010 Rosé with raw clams or oysters. Or simply pack a picnic – perhaps fruit, soft cheese and crackers- and have it at the beach or outside at one of our two tasting rooms.
2010 Aphrodite
We are pleased to have released the newest vintage (2010) Aphrodite (Late Harvest Gewurtzaminer). This wine really expresses the true varietal characteristics of Gewurtzaminer (rose pedal, nutmeg, cloves and all spice). This wine pairs wonderfully with deserts, however because of the balance of the sweet with great acidity this wine works wonderfully with fruit and prosciutto and melon. Swing by and try this amazing wine. We have only made 1331 cases and have already sold one third of it in 3 months. Join us soon! This won’t last long!
2010 Reds
The 2010 harvest will go down in Long Island History as the best vintage to date. As I go through the cellar and taste the wines as they age I have been very pleased. That being said, we are also very busy working on some new labels for some new wines we are going to release. At Duck Walk we always have a Malbec, which goes into the Meritage and is used as a blending grape to enhance other wines. However, we are going to be releasing the 2010 Malbec on its own!!! Yes a 100% Long Island Malbec!
- Cheers! Edward
